Why Catholic?

Do you long for a deeper appreciation of the beliefs, richness, and joy of our Catholic faith? Would you like to really understand the power of God’s Word in our lives and learn why we believe what we believe?

Why Catholic? is a unique adult faith formation program created by RENEW International. The program is solidly based on Scripture and the Catechism of the Catholic Church.  Why Catholic? offers a concrete approach to help adults deepen their Catholic faith and connect its teachings to their everyday lives.  Why Catholic? encourages learning in a prayerful small community setting.

This Lent we will begin our second year of the program.  We will reflect on the second section of the Catechism, which focuses on the Sacraments.  We will learn about the liturgy of the Church and the Sacraments of the Church.  We will also study the teachings of the Papacy, Church Councils and the Church Fathers on these issues.

The first year of the Why Catholic? program at St. Cecilia was very successful.  We had six groups and seventy-five participants.  Groups met different days and times during the week.
