Parents: Please call to report an absence by 8:00 A.M.

Please plan family vacations around the school calendar.

Arrival - Tardiness

Promptness is essential to the development of good working life skills. School begins at 7:30 A.M.. If a child arrives at school after the 7:50 A.M. bell, he/she is required to obtain a late slip from the office. Two late slips within a marking period will insure parental notification of the tardiness. Three marking slips within a marking period will require a teacher/student/parent conference to resolve the cause of the lateness. Parent cooperation is needed to promote

Discipline Policy

A spirit of Christ-like charity, respect for authority and mutual cooperation are essential elements of the learning environment of St. Cecilia School.

Students are expected to act with courtesy and respect toward one another and toward all members of the staff. They must take seriously their obligation to develop lifetime habits of self control and concern for the well being of others. Home and school will work together to help students learn and live the quality of responsible behavior and the elements of citizenship.

A student who chooses to disrupt the good order of the school or violate a policy or regulation will have to accept the consequences of those irresponsible choices. Appropriate discipline is within the discretion of the principal. Accountability for uncooperative, disruptive or unsafe behavior may take any of the following forms: misconduct referrals or warnings, punishment assignments, denial or privileges, timed out lunch, detention, in school suspension or expulsion.

Action which violate the laws, threaten or cause harm to other students or staff members, disrupts or impedes the welfare and progress of the school community, or brings discredit to the school will not be tolerated. Such actions or other severe violations of school rules may result in immediate expulsion. If a student persisted in violating basic obligations of courtesy, consideration, respect, cooperation or safety, a Principal/Teacher/Student conference will be scheduled.

All subsequent discipline, counseling, consultation and corrective action plans will be viewed as positive home-school efforts to help the student improve his/his behavior. If these cooperative efforts of parents and school prove ineffective, the student will be subject to expulsion.

In order to provide a school wide common plan of discipline, consequences will be given according to the discipline plan in each classroom for the following:

Suspension/Expulsion

Suspension will always be held in school. The student will work alone the full time, under the supervision of an adult.
