St. Cecilia School located in suburban Morris County, New Jersey was opened in September, 1958 by the Sisters of Christian Charity, a Congregation founded in Germany in 1849 by Pauline Von Mallinckrodt. Our school is sponsored by St. Cecilia Church under the leadership of our pastor Father John E. Hart, and our principal Sister Marie Elise Briel, SCC. Guidelines for our program are provided by the Diocese of Paterson. Our educational process provides necessary academic knowledge and skills enabling an individual to develop freely, intelligently and responsibly in our changing world. The individual student is valued primarily as a "Child of God" possessing a unique personality. Although we are a Catholic school we do accept children of all faiths. Our school adheres to the teachings of Jesus Christ who taught with authority but in a spirit of peace, love and joy. St. Cecilia School attempts to relate all human development to the Good news of salvation so that our students grow and develop to become self-sustaining and self-directing contributing citizens of the Church and society.
