Altar Servers (Youth) - Open to boys and girls, grades 4 through 12, the Altar Server assists the Celebrant(s) during the all weekend Masses, as well as special liturgies during the year.  For more information, please contact the rectory or Deacon Jack Taylor at (973) 627-7404.

Altar Servers (Senior) - Sixteen retired men and women equally divided into four teams serve at funerals.  Any senior wishing to be an Altar Server will be trained.   For further information, please call Deacon Jack Taylor at (973) 627-7404

Bible Study Group - Please contact the rectory for more information.

Christian Care Ministry - A group of people who minister to the sick of the parish who are home bound.  Twice a year the group meets at the Convent.  For more information, please contact either Mrs. Florence Whiteford or Sr. Mary Martha Garzon at the Convent.

Eucharistic Ministers - Assist the Celebrant with the distribution of the Body and Blood of our Lord.  For more information, please contact Annette Kelly at (973) 627-7119.

Food Closet - Working in conjunction with the Food Pantry at the Presbyterian Church, and the secretary at St. Cecilia's to communicate the needed items, this committee is responsible for collecting, organizing and delivering food parcels which will be later distributed to the needy.  New persons wishing to join are sent a list of duties and asked to participate after the 12:15 Mass on a Collection Sunday.  For more information, please contact Pat Marshall at

Guard of Honor (Ushers) - The Guard of Honor is present at all Church and School functions held in the Church including Mass, First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Graduation.  The Guard is made up of men and women of the parish whose duties include, but are not limited to, greeting the parishioners and their guests, handing out all relevant materials, and gathering and counting all collection monies.  To join, or for more information, please contact Ron Draney at (973) 625-7954 or email rdraney@optonline.net.

Lectors - Lectors participate in the Processional and Recessional.  They assist the Celebrant by delivering the First and Second Readings and Petitions to the Congregation.  For more information, please contact Ed Gabel at (973) 627-7119.

Music Ministry ( Choir, Contemporary Ensemble ) - The Music Ministry includes several groups of Singers who provide music throughout the Church year.  The Folk Group meets every Monday at 8:00pm.  The Children's Choirs rehearse on Thursday afternoon , 4:30pm for Grades 1-4, and 5:00pm for Grades 5-8. The Adult Choir meets on Thursday evenings at 7:30pm.  All rehearsals take place at the choir loft in the Church.  New members are always welcome. Senior Citizens - Saint Cecilia's Senior Citizens meetings are on the First and Third Tuesday of the month at 12 Noon in the Church Basement.  On the Second Tuesday of each month, they go to Atlantic City.  The club has a day trip each month and 2 or 3 long trips each year.  Persons 55 years or older may join.  For more information, please call Peggy Norman at

Soup Kitchen - Saint Cecilia's Soup Kitchen volunteers consist of four teams, headed by the program coordinator, Elizabeth Poh. The teams take turns preparing a meal in the Church Basement Kitchen the day before the Third Thursday of the month.  The food is then transported to the Trinity Lutheran Church on Blackwell Street, Dover.  Once there, the team is responsible for the setup of tables and chairs, reheating and serving the food to the needy, and final cleanup.  Please call the rectory at (973) 627-0313 if you would like more information or would like to join our team.

St. Cecilia's Men's Society - The purpose of the society is to provide opportunities for spiritual reflection and growth for the men of the parish and to organize the men of the parish to promote the mission of the parish.  The Men's Society plans social/recreational events for the parish and assists in serving the parish in practical matters.  All men of the parish 18 and over are already members, please come join us and help to make a difference in our parish.  We meet the Second Saturday of each month, except July, after the 8:00am Mass in the Church Basement.  For more information, please call Jim Gallagher at (973) 366-9699 or email mensociety@st-cecilia.org. St. Monica's Guild - Established in 1997, is an active organization with over sixty members.  Our purpose is to develop and deepen spiritually among its members, to pray for priests and for an increase in vocations, and to serve as a ministry of hospitality at a variety of parish functions.   We also host day trips to various places of interest.

Our Guild is named after St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine, who dedicated her life to prayer.  Her feast day is August 27th.

Youth Ministry - Saint Cecilia's Youth Ministry is open to all high school aged people.  We offer a wide variety of activities ranging from just meeting for open gym & movie nights, to retreat weekends.   If you, or someone you know is interested in joining, please contact Mr. and Mrs.Denis Mulroony
